The Medical Profession and Your Prostate Cancer
As I have said so often, in order for a guy to make an informed decision about the available options open to him following a diagnosis of prostate cancer, he first needs to diligently examine the pros and cons for each of the conventional medical treatments his doctor will (hopefully) prioritize for him and then, wisely do the same regarding alternative medicine, in all its various guises.
After which and armed with his new found knowledge, face to face discussions with professionals of different persuasions; urologist, oncologist and, of course, holistic health professionals, should follow to further explore and weigh up the risks and benefits of each option.
Unfortunately, getting a direct and candid opinion from a doctor can be an extremely difficult thing to do. Many are beset with fear of subsequent litigation for giving a wrongful diagnosis or prognosis and besides, prostate cancer, even with billions of dollars being thrown at it, is to this day very much a subjective thing.
Subjective in as much that the medical profession as a whole cannot agree on it’s primary cause or on an agreed ‘best practice’ for treating it, so it is left to the medical professional to develop his own theories and his own conclusions, and to then determine his own preferred philosophy and methodology. Quite often, the only way to get a medical professional to give a recommendation as to a preferred, or best available option, is to say, quite candidly “What would you do, Doctor, if you were in my position?”
On the other hand, I think it fair to say that alternative medicine professionals are usually far more sincere, open and forthright with their information and advice and have a far greater interest in your overall health and well-being. Moreover, they will never suggest to you, as doctors often do, that you “Go home and get your affairs in order as there is no further hope”. As happened to me in 2000.
Anyway, I have digressed. The purpose of this introduction was to set the scene for the under-mentioned article by Dr Robert S Mendelsohn with reference to his book “Confessions of a Medical Heretic”.
This is a insiders view of the medical profession in the United States over the years. It is quite revealing, as well as disparaging, and is something you should perhaps read as background information to help you in any health decision making process you need to undertake. This same scenario is being enacted in many countries, globally. Anywhere in fact, that Big Pharma has its tentacles, because it is Big Pharam that is the underlying cause of much of this problem.

Today’s quote:
As a retired physician, I can honestly say that unless you are in a serious accident, your best chance of living to a ripe old age is to avoid doctors and hospitals and learn nutrition, herbal medicine and other forms of natural medicine unless you are fortunate enough to have a naturopathic physician available. Almost all drugs are toxic and are designed only to treat symptoms and not to cure anyone. Vaccines are highly dangerous, have never been adequately studied or proven to be effective, and have a poor risk/reward ratio. Most surgery is unnecessary and most textbooks of medicine are inaccurate and deceptive. Almost every disease is said to be idiopathic (without known cause) or genetic – although this is untrue. In short, our main stream medical system is hopelessly inept and/or corrupt. The treatment of cancer and degenerative diseases is a national scandal. The sooner you learn this, the better off you will be.”—-Dr. Allan Greenberg 12/24/2002
