FDA Running Extortion Racket

Gents, this article is a bit off topic but I just couldn’t let slip by without referencing it. In a sense it is along the lines of my last post showing concern for the general attack on vitamin and mineral supplements orchestrated, in the main, by Big Pharma.

In the following article, it is reported that the Federal Drugs Administration (FDA) in the USA, and principal cohort of Big Pharma in their ongoing attempt to destroy the natural supplements industry, is using their official muscle, to effect the same result. And in Australia we also have problems with our, all powerful, food regulators

You will no doubt recall my earlier posts mentioned that just a few weeks ago, the foods regulatory body here, the Therapeutic Goods Authority, (TGA), was fined AU$50 million dollars for maliciously closing down one of the largest manufacturers of supplements in the country, several years ago. And now, in excess of 100 companies; themselves seriously affected by that closure, are rightly preparing a class action to pursue the TGA in the courts.

The shame of it being that it is the Aussie tax payer who will suffer the financial consequences. So far, there have been no reports of heads rolling at the TGA. More fool me for expecting that to happen, I guess.

Anyhow, please enjoy the following article from: Natural News

FDA Running Extortion Racket: Natural Supplement Companies Threatened with Arrest if They Don’t Pay Up Tuesday, October 21, 2008 by: Mike Adams

(NaturalNews) NaturalNews has learned the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is running a criminal extortion racket designed to drain cash from health supplement companies and shift it into the pockets of top FDA contractors. This organized crime operation has been running for years, and it has operated with impunity because each company targeted by the scam feels isolated and alone, unable to face the astronomical legal bills of going to court and battling the FDA. So one by one, they agree to “settle” with the FDA for crimes they never committed. Part of the settlement, of course, involves the payment of FDA employees or contractors who pocket the money extorted from health companies.
