My Prostate Cancer Fighting Diet
For those of you interested in the diet side of things in your battle against your prostate cancer, what follows is a slightly abridged version of my own diet that I posted recently on a fabulous, new, website dedicated to discussing of all aspects concerning the development and management of prostate cancer. It’s an open forum where individuals can start group discussion on subject areas of specific relevance to them or simply join an existing discussion group/s. It is FREE to sign up will be of tremendous benefit to you in your search for knowledge.
It is well worth a browse, at: http://prostatecancerinfolink.ning.com/
My Diet:
* Low fat, low sugar, low sodium
* No red meats, no processed meats, no dairy foods. I use Oat milk and Rice milk instead of
dairy milk.
* Pomegranate Juice - Organic, double strength. 40 ml per day
* Kakadu Juice 60 ml per day (15 Berries, Herbs & Fruits) (Resveratrol plus)
* Papaya 35 (naturally fermented paw-paw) 30 mls per day
* Raw Pineapple juiced 30 ml per day (see notes)
* Green Tea, Lemon Grass Tea or Papaya tea.
* Oil blend 3-6-9
* Fish caught locally - twice weekly
* Sunlight - daily exposure 30 minutes on 2 km walk.
* Assorted fruit and fresh vegetable juices made fresh daily.
Supplements:
* vitamin E 670 mg (natural only)
* selenium 400 mcg daily
* vitamin C obtained from juices, particularly Kakadu Juice
* Organic essential greens; Spirulina 3000 mg; Barley Grass; or Wheat Grass.
* magnesium 300 mg
* Maca powder 1/2 t/spoon
* Zinc 1/4 t/spoon
* Colloidal minerals 5 ml per day
Notes:
* Lemon grass (I grow my own) confirmed by the Ben Gurian University to kill prostate cancer
cells and other types of cancer cell too.
* Papaya 35 I take with the Pineapple juice, the theory being that the pineapple juice removes
the protective coating on the cancer cell thereby giving access to the cancer killing papaya
juice (Papain?)
* I consumed Soya milk for many years but stopped when I read numerous reports indicating
that although it can act as a preventative against prostate cancer it can have the opposite
affect once you have the cancer. In other words it may worsen it.
* Kakadu Juice, Australia’s best kept secret, is currently only available in Australia and New
Zealand. Plans are afoot to open in the US later in the year. For a preview go to:
www.kakadu-health-wellbeing.com
* I avoid Vit A supplementation as I do with any supplementation that is not natural. Your body
can happily handle natural supplements but no one has yet shewn that the body can equally
handle chemical, synthetic imitations. It’s a Grey area indeed.
* I am also handling other health issues, primarily by using natural medicines. Consequently, I
have to check to ensure that no two ingredients or supplements are likely to interact
negatively.
* Selenium. The jury is still out as to what constitutes too much.
* Pineapple Juice - Raw or Organic. I take 30ml shortly before taking the Papaya 35. The
theory being that the Pineapple Juice will remove the coating of the cancer cells, allowing the
Papaya 35 to gain access to the cell proper, whereupon it will destroy the cell from within.
It is recognized in the medical profession that most of the regulated and recommended safe doses for supplementation, particularly for natural substances, is well short of the mark. This aspect is currently under review by various august medical bodies. There is plenty of medical research showing a much higher dose of selenium does not constitute a danger.(this is my proposition as derived from my research - not medical advice).
It goes without saying that one has to be reasonable and to some degree, flexible, in adopting such a diet lest it becomes all-together too hard to manage or you die of boredom first. Above all else, I try to avoid stress and that means not being too strict with myself. I am particularly fortunate on two counts. One being that being retired and happily working from home I can easily manage the diet and secondly, but of even greater import, is the fact that my darling wife is 100% supportive and ensures that I am never without products or satisfying, healthy meals.
Well that’s it. Am I overdoing it? Maybe. But hey! It’s my battle and I am the one orchestrating it, not some other third party with little or no personal interest or investment in the final outcome.
