The prevalence of prostate cancer appears - at least in my little world, -to be increasing exponentially, though I suppose I should hasten to add that that is probably more about perception than reality. At my age, many of my military contemporaries have already parted this life and so very often, it has been cancer that has flicked the switch. Others are counting down the days having been diagnosed with a cancer of one sort or another and taken the doctor’s advice to go home and consider every new day a good one.
I find this dismal attitude both frustrating and frightening. Our days of being able to have blind faith in our medical profession are long gone. Not that our doctors’ don’t do a brilliant job in many areas of medicine. They do, as we all know.
It is more about people being able to fully utilize the global search capacity of the world wide web to learn more about the good, the bad and the ugly, thereby enabling them to minimize personal health risk by taking responsibility for one’s own health and wellbeing.
So many people, myself included, have been able to reject out of hand the medical prognosis of having only months to live and then, turning to natural healing, continued leading normal lives long after the prognosis would have them dead and buried. In my own case seven years. I now have a new fight on my hands with a different type of cancer to the first but my strategy is the same. Essentially, to heal myself with the help of natural medicine - the only true medicine.
