My Prostate Cancer Blog Revisited

Hi folks,

A big thank you to those of you who very kindly contacted me expressing concern over my prostate cancer and general health, prompted of course, by my recent absence from my blog site.

Yes, I admit to having been very tardy in this regard and I’m not sure that I have a satisfactory explanation either. I guess my lack of enthusiasm, albeit subconscious was initially caused by the realization that prolonged periods; sitting at the computer, was causing problems with my legs, vis-à-vis, cramps and calf pain. Subsequent investigation showing that I had had a blood clot in the left leg which had, fortunately with timely medical intervention, been dissolved but
which had left a scarring in the vein.

As you will well imagine, this was sufficient to discourage me, without any conscious decision on my part, to stay away from the computer for a while. I must admit though that it was a good decision. My sleep patterns improved markedly and my leg issues rapidly disappeared. I hadn’t realized how much my intensive computer usage was affecting me, both physically and mentally. Perhaps that’s because I enjoy it so thoroughly. How crazy is that?

During the period of my absence from the blog I have had to submit myself to a series of medical specialists and tests, each with the aim of exploring the extent and cause of my heart dilemma. Although this all took several months to accomplish I must say that I couldn’t have been more pleased with the attention and professionalism afforded me by all the doctors, specialists and technicians concerned.

As for the prostate problem, I am still very much committed to the ‘wait and watch’ principle and, to-date, have no concerns. My general health is very good. I have bags of energy and vitality and a very positive outlook. My enthusiasm for a holistic approach has, if anything, been re-enforced with me overcoming my heart issues, seemingly through my existing natural health regimen.

To accommodate my heart problems I had to make a few adjustments to my regimen because my research told me that it was advisable to exclude some items because of conflict. This once again highlights the need to carefully check ones diet and supplement listing from time to time to ensure that there are no contraindications. It is easy to add a new found supplement to ones regimen without first checking to see if it conflicts with something already on the list.

Please do remember that what suits one person does not necessarily suit another – and that goes for prescription drugs too, of course.

In my next post, I will review my daily routine and list the foods and supplements I concoct on a daily basis for my anti-cancer, self-treatment.

Today’s Quote:

“It is better not to apply any treatment in cases of occult cancer; for if treated (by surgery), the patients die quickly; but if not treated, they hold out for a long time.”
Hippocrates, (460-370 BC)
