Update - Jun 03/07
Hi Guys,
It’s time for an update from me, covering recent happenings.
I had a chat with my urologist a few days ago to bring him up to speed as to my medical happenings since our last meeting about six months ago. Issues that needed discussing included my aggressive prostate cancer, my recent episode of frank Haematuria with hospitalization, and of course, last month’s hospitalization with pulmonary thrombosis, which in turn, led to the discovery of atrial fibrillation and ischemia. Oh boy, what I have to do in my endeavour to keep the medical profession fully engaged.
Well, to start the ball rolling we discussed the results of blood and urine tests that I had done a few days earlier in anticipation of the consultation. Urine was clear, no blood and a recent infection - subsequent to catheter extraction – had evidently cleared up.
As to the blood test it showed that my PSA had risen again, from 11.5 to 13.00 but, as he explained to me, this small rise could be the result of the six days with the catheter and the infection that followed. He also intimated that as my cancer was of a particularly aggressive variety (only the best for me!) I can expect ongoing elevation of the PSA. I understand that these readings can go into the thousands so I have a long way to go to reach maximum. I won’t be holding my breath waiting. (grin).
Hmm! Perhaps I should consider taking bets on what the next PSA level will be in six months time? Any offers?
Fortunately, all the other markers in the blood test were within normal range, without exception. Undoubtedly, this would be due to my wife’s thoughtful and caring diligence with my diet and also, to my natural therapy regimen, per se.
The prognosis for my prostate cancer was quite dismal, with my medical options being reduced the longer I delay a decision. Additionally, with my heart issues now apparent, prostate treatment options were even more limited until a clearer picture evolved and the heart issues positively identified and resolved. Well, as I explained to him, that suits me fine as I still having no desire to undertake conventional medicinal treatment for it.
As one chap, who happened to be a doctor, said to me recently when I mentioned my prostate problem and that I was not taking the conventional medicine route “What, don’t you want to lose your testicles then?”
As to the other matter, my frank haematuria, I was offered a cystoscopy with retrograde pyelogram (TURP), to find the source of the bleeding and to shave off some of the prostate in order to reduce the size of the prostate.
Now, having had this same procedure done twice in the past three years without resolution I could see no sense in having him go in again on yet another exploratory venture. Moreover, my research tells me that even the medical profession acknowledges that any procedure likely to cause internal bleeding, particularly in the area of a primary cancer, considerably increases the probable spread of that cancer. That, I can do without thank you. I’m told that the probability of my having microscopic metastasis is already high, though as yet, unconfirmed and I certainly don’t want to increase, or speed up, the chance of a negative outcome.
Professor of radiology, Ernst Krokowski, demonstrated conclusively that metastasis is
commonly triggered by medical intervention, sometimes even by a biopsy or surgery unrelated to the cancer
So we are now returning to the watching and waiting game, for both the prostate cancer and the frank haematuria. And as for the ticker, well, I will have to nurture that one until I meet with the cardiologist in late July. In the meantime, a few changes in the herbs and supplements that I am taking could well affect a positive outcome regarding the ischemia, and also the atrial fibrillation, without the need for clinical intervention. I’ll sure give it a go.
Meanwhile, my blood pressure remains high, usually in the 158/86 ranges, sometimes much higher and without obvious cause. I have tried a number of ‘solutions’ to this but none have worked. Guess I’ll have to go back to the drawing board on this one.
All in all, I am feeling great. My attitude is very positive still and I take every day as it comes. The mornings are getting colder. Winter is upon us and I have put off my early morning walk with my wife as I certainly don’t have her fortitude, leaving a warm bed for the chilly walk along the coast. I now walk late morning and sometimes, late afternoon too, with the added benefit that I can catch beautiful sunsets.
Today’s quote:
“Every discoverer of a cancer remedy has encountered a Chinese wall of resistance,” which has been the same in every page of recorded cancer history, and that the myth that the discoverer of a cancer cure would be “honored, acclaimed, and practically deified as a saviour of the human race,” should be changed to “dishonored, denounced and crucified, unless he is a fair haired boy of the dominating oligarchy.”
