As you will have noted, I like my meals small but frequent. This I suppose is engendered by me having already lost one kidney and the need to respect the one I still have.
Also, I stay away from red meats and conform as much as possible to vegan style foods. No longer do I take any dairy foods, including milk chocolate. I now eat the dark chocolate variety and my taste-buds have become so used to it they no longer appreciate milk chocolate. Which I suspect, is just as well considering my past love of milk chocolate.

Margarine and butter is also out and I am quite happy having my sandwiches without either. And yet again, my taste-buds have accepted this in total. I have found that changing from one familiar taste to a new one is not at all difficult, provided it is done over several weeks, slowly weaning oneself off the one before starting on the other.

Since starting on this regimen in June, I have lost 4 kilograms in weight and I am now at 80kgs. I wouldn’t wish to go lower than this.

My wife provides me with nutrient-rich snacks that provide energy as well as being rich in carbohydrate and protein, such as low fat fruit yoghurt, fresh and dried fruit, salads and cottage or goats cheeses with low fat cracker biscuits. She is also a dab hand at finding the right blend of fruits and vegetables to put in the mixer, creating enticing, healthy, drinks.

Other regular items, as I recall, include: Almonds, Apricots, Beans, Brown Rice, Dates, Lentils, Split Peas, Tofu, Avocado, Apple Cider Vinegar, Tomato, Soy Yoghurt, Beetroot, Broccoli, Rockmelon, Carrots, Celery, Garlic, Ginger, Mushrooms, Onions, Pumpkin, Red Capsicum and Zucchini

.

So much for my daily routine. Sounds a bit boring written down, doesn’t it? But it isn’t, I assure you. Do remember that we live in paradise - it’s called Queensland - and furthermore, we live in the very best part of that paradise, it’s called the “Redcliffe Peninsula”. Now that is everything but boring!!
